The engine had been reconditioned 10 years previously but had done less than a 1000 k's. Gordon had fitted an Airsensors fuel injection system to it prior to that, but after the reco the hotwire on the air mass sensor had broken and was too expensive to replace which was why it was parked up. The trans had been rebuilt by Trevor McLean of Papakura Automatics (R.I.P) and he dealt to it severely. He told Gordon there was nothing he do to the engine that will ever worry the trans. He also provided him with the cam which he reckoned was perfect for street performance and fuel economy.
A 465 holley was recently fitted to replace the injection, lp electric fuel pump and regulator. It has headers with a 2 1/2 inch exhaust and flowmaster muffler. It has an electronic distributor and finned alloy rockers. The car has been lowered 2 inches on heavy duty coils and gas shocks on the rear with gas for the front in the near future. The brakes have been fully reconditioned. Power steering has been fitted and most of the bushes have been replaced throughout. The wheels are 18 x 8 front and 18 x 9 1/2 rear Ridler R695's shod with 255/35 front 285/35 rear tyres.
The body was stripped out and cleaned and painted Absolute Red with black accents. The interior had been done 12 years ago so just needed a good tidy and he tinted the windows 35%. A last job was the fitting of a Pioneer stereo with USB, SD card and bluetooth capabilities.
